Spicy and sweet, hot and pleasantly aromatic wine drink hugely popular in Sweden around Christmas time.
In Swedish traditional fashion, the raisins and whole almonds in the drink are ladled and eaten while slowly drinking this hot winter drink.

Where do we get recipes for all of those? Do you have any idea?
Actually the guests staying at Sakura Hotels give us recipes.
And guess what! I cooked with them yesterday!
We had kind of a cooking party at this place: Design Festa Gallery Harajuku.
Many guests and staffs gathered for this event!
So we actually cooked according to the recipes in order to consider
which food can be in the menu.
They are talking about something... The guy in the white shirt cooked amazing spicy Tunisian food! Thank you very much! :)
Tasting... everyone was so interested.
They are staying at Sakura Hotel Hatagaya! From Spain and Venezuela!
She cooked food called "Pan de hamo" (The spelling might be wrong because I don't speak Spanish). I heard that they bake it for Christmas.
This is how it had looked before it was baked. Cute decorations!
And after being baked! It looks AWESOME!!
There were other amazing drinks and food at the party.
I just took pictures and ate...and washed dishes.

Baking them takes a lot of time, since we have to prepare a big amount and different flavors. Up until now it was always Ai who baked them, because she is responsible for our cafe's menu and has the most experience.
Last time she asked me to help her, so I could learn the recipe from her, and today she let me do it all by myself! Yay!!
I still need a bit more practice, but they turned out quite well for the first time.
And this is our new staff, Ryoma! It was his second day at work today.
Look forward to his introduction post in the near future. (^O^)/
We had a really busy day at Hatagaya today. Sometimes so much happens in only one day at work that I can hardly remember what I did in the morning when I come home at night. So I decided to try and take photos of everything interesting that happened today.
It all started with Henry from the US who suddenly started talking to me in German. I was so surpised! And he was speaking really well! He told me he used to live in Germany for a while. Too bad he only stayed one night.

Then Masaya from our maintenance team came over to dispose of our old fridge. He came alone so we had to help him. That fridge was so heavy!! Even with 4 people we had a hard time carrying it to the car. Plus, it's unbelievably hot outside. >,<

It is "Day of mate tea" today, in Japan.
It seems to do the harvest festival of this day mate in production country Argentina of the mate .
Because it is time when met the mate tea first by me brought it to the souvenir by my friend where it goes to Honduras, it becomes ten old times of year or more.
The mate tea is called a drunk salad. The plant of not a so-called tea leaf (camellia department) but the winterberry department is a raw material. The taste is not bad though feeling is green tea, tea, and a little different.

The many audience gathered to hear this great oppotunity. Her interesting story-teller made us much laughing and laughing!

Isamu-kun made these cute teruteru bouzu!
He learned how to make it, and the story of Teruteru-bouzu in an elementary school near Hatagaya. He told the story to his father.

Fortunately, we have already received some reservations of seats in our cafe,
by those who want to watch the World Cup 2010 game, Denmark VS Japan.
The game will start at 3:30am(JST), in the midnight of weekday.
These watchers seems to be zealots,
as they comes here at the risk of bit late arrival at their working places in the next morning.

These dolls are called 'TERU-TERU-BOZU' ↓
They were made by Sakura Hotel Staff, and hunged up in Sakura Cafe Hatagaya!
As one of Japanese culture, children hang them up to wish for better weather.
Teru Teru Bozu means "shine, shine shaven-head" literally, and is a lucky charm depiciting Buddhist monks praying for good weather.
We are making home-made pickles now.

Yang Guifei(she was was known as one of the Four Beauties of ancient China) loved lotus tea!It is good for diet and non-caffeine.
I think ,you cannot find hydrangea leaf tea on our regular menu.

Throughout the year, you can buy strawberries in Japan, because of greenhouse cultivation.
But the best season of strawberry is May and June.
I had not known about its best season.
But Thai girls who were our guests asked me where is the best place to go to strawberry picking,
I checked and noticed about it.
For your information, the place I recommend for strawberry picking in Tokyo is Niikura-Noen, which means "Niikuras' Farm".
From here Sakura Hotel Hatagaya, going to Niikura-noen is rather easy.
By using Keio New Line / Keio Line, you can reach it's nearest station "Seiseki-Sakuragaoka."
If you are lucky, no need of transfer of train. (But most of the cases, you need 1 transfer.)
From Seiseki-sakuragaoka station, there is a buss line (No. 9).
And with 10 minutes riding, you can arrive at "Ochikawa" buss stop, which is almost next door of the farm.
At our Sakura Cafe Hatagaya, we sell fresh drink full of strawberry.
This drink is named as "Shinkai-no-berries", which means berries in the deep sea.

Here is new arrival Cafe menu!
NORI?PANDA! It's cute!
NORI means, not only dryed seaweed, but our manager's nickname(Nory from NORIHISA).
PANDA means bear cat.
Nory san create this new menu.
You can eat this with 230 yen! (with cheeze, or salsa sause, or salted cod roe, 250 yen).
It taste good nad feel good smell of soy sause, and butter, and crisp seaweed.
Please taste it in Sakura Cafe in Hatagaya!
Just next to our hotel lobby is newly opened Sakura café. It is opened for our guests from 5 am to midnight every day.
Here is a new menu to introduce....
Tokyo pita is created with a unique combination of Japanese and Mediterranean cuisine.
There is a teriyaki chicken and lettuce wrapped in pita bread with garlic sauce or mayonnaise on the top. It also comes with a free drink and chips on the side.
