July 7th was "Tanabata" in most of the parts of Japan.
I went to pre-opening ceremony of Hiratsuka Tanabata Festival.
I said "pre" because the actual festival events took place from July 8th to July 10th.
At the ceremony, there was a prayer for safety and success of the festival.
They also introduced "Orihime." They were more like campaign ladies though.
I saw a nice "Tanzaku" for Tohoku. I hope our prayers reach there.
