Because of the heavy air-raids in WWII, many parts of Tokyo were completely destroyed.
So, old buildings in Tokyo are quite uncommon.
Some of them which dot in Arakawa ward are famous their usage of bricks.
At Arakawa Cultural Center, an exhibition about such buildings is hold now.
Scenery with Brick Buildings is the name of the exhibition.
The exhibition shows many pictures of old beautiful brick buildings.
Many of them are lost but a few of brick buildings are survived and became Japanese Important Cultural Properties.
On 26th of February, a guide tour of the exhibition is planned.
And on 12 th of March, another tour of actual old brick buildings is planned too.
If you are interested in pre-modern architecture of Japan, this is the exhibition you must see.
