私は、先週の月曜日に大江戸温泉に行ってきました。

温泉に本当に夢中ですが、時間がなかなか。T_T

東京で、塩分が六番目と言われました。
やっぱり、ちょっとしょっぱいでした。＞＿＜

外国人には大江戸温泉物語の全部が和風なので、
とてもおもしろくて楽しい時間でした。

Ｉ went to OEDO ONSEN at ODAIBA on last Monday.

I am really crazy about hot spring but, no time...T_T

OEDO ONSEN is the 6th of salinity in TOKYO.

If you have a plan to go there,
I am sure you should go on weekday not weekend.

Go and get some relax.
Soak your body in the hot spring, you feel this is the Heaven then.

Is is safe to drink tap water?

It's one of questions our guests ask us.

"Tap water is drinkable!" is our reply.

Actually, in Tokyo, botteld tap water is sold (100 yen/ 500ml) at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government buildings, Ueno zoo and so on.

Waterworks department hopes to show people thier high technology that allows them to supply high quality tap water.

Because of the heavy air-raids in WWII, many parts of Tokyo were completely destroyed.

So, old buildings in Tokyo are quite uncommon.

Some of them which dot in Arakawa ward are famous their usage of bricks.

At Arakawa Cultural Center, an exhibition about such buildings is hold now.

Scenery with Brick Buildings is the name of the exhibition.

The exhibition shows many pictures of old beautiful brick buildings.

Many of them are lost but a few of brick buildings are survived and became Japanese Important Cultural Properties.

On 26th of February, a guide tour of the exhibition is planned.

And on 12 th of March, another tour of actual old brick buildings is planned too.

If you are interested in pre-modern architecture of Japan, this is the exhibition you must see.

We had Ehomaki(sushi roll) event♪

"Ehou-maki"

Eating "Ehou-maki" is another special traditional event which has become popular recently. "Ehou-maki" is a sushi roll made from rice, cucumber, shiitake mushroom, eel and so on. They say if you eat it facing the happy direction while keeping quiet, you will become happy.

We made sushi roll.....and...

Eat Sushi!!

During eating sushi, we cannot speak and make wishes.

 We will have Event next month.

梅の季節になった。

以前私は、三浦半島にある有名な梅林のすぐ近くに住んでいたので、

少々の梅では驚かないが、

東京には、湯島天神や池上本門寺など梅の名所少なくない。

有名な水戸の偕楽園も、かなりのものであった。

そこで、もうそろそろかと思って代々木公園に行った。

あいにくの雪の後だった。

梅はまだだった。白梅と紅梅が数輪ちらほらと咲いている程度で、

10本ほどある木々はひっそりとしていた。

最近はもっぱらここで観梅としゃれることにしている。

なにしろ歩いて行けるので、もう少し経ったらまた行こう。

It snowed yesterday in Tokyo.

We don't have much snowy days in Tokyo.

I googled and found interesting data.

It snowed 15 times a year in Tokyo last year and 8 times a year in Tokyo 2 years ago.

FYI, it snowed only 3 times a year in Tokyo in 2007.

If you see snow in Tokyo, I guess it means lucky.

In Tokyo, even in the midst of winter, we can meet many flowers.

From 11th to 13th of February, Kanto-Tokai Region Flower Exhibition 2011 wil be hold at Ikebukuro Sunshine City in Ikebukuro.

This exhibition is hold since 1951, and one of the largest flower exhibition in Japan.

Here, you can see not only flowers themselves but also traditional/modern Japanese art of flower arrangement.

And on the last day, on 13th of February, you can buy those exhibited flowers.

Most part of this exhibition costs you no charge. Enjoy!

It is with deep sorrow and regret, that we have to announce that Gary Moore passed away while on holiday in Spain

One of the questions we are often asked is "Can I catch Shinkansen at Shinjuku station?"

The nearest large station from our hotel is Shinjuku.

Aout 3.5 million passengers visit Shinjuku station a day and this is Guinness world record.

But no Shinkansen stops at Shinjuku station.

To catch Shinkansen, you need to go to Tokyo station or Shingawa station.

FYI, Nozomi (Shinkansen stops at Kyoto) runs once about every 20 minutes between 6:00 am and 9:20 pm.
