If you buy 'shika-senbei'(Deer's feed) you should be carefull!

Deers try to snatch Shika-senbei from our hand!

I was so surprised,,,they always show a fearless attitude to human beings!!

If you visit Nara, I also recommend you go to TODAIJI (temple)東大寺 and HEIJYO-KYO     平城京.

 You can experience Japanese history...

I enjoyed my trip to Nara, too ! At Heijyo-kyo, there was a demonstration of the gates being closed. It was really nice to see it ! (thanks to a security agent who tried to explain me it was going to happen and told me to go back to the Suzaku Gate).

Also, the Nara Park is a really nice place when it's a very hot sunny day :-).

I will probably go back next year to visit Naramachi. (If I remember correctly, that's the old city where the movie Shara (Sharasojyu) takes place).

Can I find deers in Nara during winter?

Thanks for the photos Ai :) I was wondering what Heijyo-Kyo would look like - is all the rebuilding finished now? I'm arriving back in Japan next week and Nara 1300th Anniversary is on my schedule!

I've been to Nara on a previous holiday and loved it. We hired bikes from our Ryokan and cycled around the town. A wonderful, relaxing way to see the place.
