This is "KOI-NOBORI" for boy's day(May 5th).
Girls day is March 3rd.
We hoist Koi-nobori, carp-shaped streamers that symbolize strength and success in life because chinese legends say carp become dragons when they swim up white water rapids.
Today, this day has become a national holiday to celebrate the growth and health at all children, not only boys.
